The 1-1 Parenting Principle starts with “Counting Minutes.” When you count out each second that your child is not listening or arguing with you, you are adding up minutes for yourself to rest and be fully restored. And when you begin "Claiming Minutes" to be restored, you are enforcing natural consequences with your child and temporarily limiting their boundaries. You don't need to punish your child because consequences will do the trick. They quickly learn that their freedom is directly tied to their ability to listen and agree with you. As a result, your child learns to listen and respect you more, while your 1-1 relationship grows closer.
