What A Trip!
Hello, my name is Paul. I refer to myself as "The Chief Stumbler" of 1-1 Family. Why? Well, I came to realize this new parenting paradigm after I quite literally tripped over a protruding tree root in one of my lowest parenting moments ever. But in the very next moment, I was blessed to suddenly discover the 1-1 Family techniques that would change my life and the lives of my twin boys forever. (Read "The 1-1 Story") After only three months of using 1-1, my twin boys went from having more than 360 "micro-arguments" a week with me to only a dozen or so. As a result, I am continually operating at my peak parenting performance and drawing into a closer 1-1 relationship with my boys. That was when I realized that I had to share this new parenting paradigm with parents who want to do the best for their children, so I built this website and offer all the information on it for free.
My wife and I cared for 13 foster children in our home and hearts over a seven year period. On Valentine's Day in 2014, we welcomed twin foster boys, 9-1/2 months old, into our home. On October 1, 2018, we adopted our then 5-year-old twin boys from the Oregon foster care system. The long 4-1/2 year journey to adopt our boys was difficult on many levels but also incredibly fun and rewarding at the same time. We've enjoyed amazing times together, from camping trips all over the Oregon wilderness to beach vacations up and down the beaches on the West coast, harvesting wheat on a large family ranch and much more, all with an insatiable affinity for dirt, rocks, water and muddy puddles.

James 1: 27 (NIV): Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: To look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
